The Palmerston East State School (sometimes called East Palmerston State School) opened on 19 April 1938.[10] In 2010, the school had an enrolment of 17 students with 2 teachers (1 full-time equivalent) and 7 non-teaching staff (2 full-time equivalent).[11] It closed on 26 April 2012.[12][13] It was located at 2068 Palmerston Highway East (17°36′12″S 145°50′48″E / 17.6033°S 145.8467°E / -17.6033; 145.8467 (East Palmerston State School)).[14] The school's website was archived.[15]
